Floyd Robert (Bob) Scoggins
Floyd Robert (Bob) Scoggins, 57, of Junction City passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009 in Hiawatha, Ks. Visitation for Mr. Scoggins will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 22 at Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home 805 Caroline, with a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. Friday, October 23 at the Parkerville Baptist Church in Parkerville, KS. Cremation is planned with internment at a later date in Highland Cemetery, Junction City. He is survived by three daughters: Kristine (and husband Bill) and Stephanne (and companion Lee), both of Junction City, and Jessica (and fiancé Dan) of Athens, GA; a sister, Lori, of Junction City; and his companion, Penny, of Hiawatha, KS. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Cade, Jackson, Taylor, and Peyton--all of Junction City; and Devin, of Athens, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sadie Louise (Filby) Scoggins, and his father, Floyd Harlan Scoggins. Mr. Scoggins worked many places over his lifetime. As a teenager, he worked at Jim's 66 Service Station and later, worked at McKenna Pontiac dealership as a painter in their auto body shop until the business closed. After that time, he worked at several body shops in the area as well as owned his own shop for a short while. He also spent several years working as a Reserve Police Officer on the Junction City Police Reserves. His last job was as an auto damage estimator at Walt's Auto Body in Topeka, a position he held until he was medically retired due to health problems in the early 2000's.
Since that time, he had enjoyed relaxing, seeing friends, bragging on his grandchildren, 'bench racing', and enjoying life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the Geary Community Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441.
