Evelyn Rose (Hough) Repp
Evelyn Repp, 97, died Monday, May 27, 2013 in Abilene, KS. She was born December 15, 1915 to Bertie and Nellie Whearty Hough in Pottawatomie County west of Westmoreland, KS. She graduated from Fostoria High School in 1934 and later from Kansas State University with a career of teaching school for 40 years.
Evelyn married John Vincent Repp on December 25, 1937. They had one child, Karen Sue. They made their home in Salina and Junction City. Evelyn was a loving wife and mother.
Husband John passed away in 1992 after 54 years of marriage. She is survived by daughter Karen (James) Schoenbeck of Abilene, KS, and three grandchildren Melanie (Andrew) Molzahn of Phoenix, AZ, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Schoenbeck of Emporia, KS and Matthew (Erika) Schoenbeck of Wamego, KS. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; Emma, Bennett and Skylar Schoenbeck, and Madeline and Allyson Molzahn. She is also survived by a sister, Alice Cutright of Topeka, KS.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Grace Moss, May Armentrout, Lois Stauffer, Edna Howell and a brother, Howard Hough.
Evelyn was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Kansas Society of Mayflower Descendants, Junction City Association of Retired School Personnel, Delta Kappa Gamma, Kansas State University Alumni Association and First United Methodist Church of Junction City.
A memorial service will be held at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel at 203 North Washington Street, Junction City, KS at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Burial will be held at Highland Cemetery in Junction City preceding the service. The service will be officiated by Reverend Justin Panzer from Faith Lutheran Church in Abilene.
