Evelyn Miller

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2007, at the Zion United Church of Christ for Evelyn Ruth Miller, 86, Milford, Kansas. Pastor Russ Glaser will officiate. Mrs. Miller passed away Sunday, February 25, 2007, at her home in Milford. Burial will follow the service at the Milford Cemetery. Mrs. Miller will lie in state from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel where a register book may be signed. Memorial contributions may be given to the Zion United Church of Christ 1811 McFarland Rd. Junction City, Kansas 66441 or to the Manhattan Home Care and Hospice 323 Poyntz Ave. Manhattan, Kansas 66502.



Evelyn Miller was born August 15, 1920, in Alida, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Slupianek) Manz. She has resided in the Milford area her entire life.



Evelyn was a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. Evelyn owned and operated the Miller Mobile Home Park in Milford, Kansas along with her husband Dale. She was also a 4-H Leader.



She married Dale F. Miller December 29, 1940, at the Alida Evangelical Church in Geary County. Dale passed away June 24, 1999.



Other survivors include her son Gary Miller of Lancaster, South Carolina and her daughter Linda Chester of Creston, Iowa. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Kearney Manz.
