Eva Munk, age 17, of Junction City, KS passed away on March 20, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous six month battle with Leukemia. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1705 McFarland Road. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel 203 N. Washington Street. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the Kansas Chapter of Make A Wish Foundation in the name of "Team Eva". The family has suggested that one non-perishable snack item be brought to the visitation Friday evening so that item can be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Eva's name.
Eva was born March 17, 1998, in Wichita, KS. Eva was adopted by Dale and Jody Munk and Family at the age of 2.
Eva was a Junior at Junction City High School. As a typical teenager, she loved the typical teenage television series, glitter, music, crafts, dancing and her dogs. She has a contagious smile and was a fighter who never gave up and was recently known for her motto, "It is What it is". Eva loved her family and was happiest when she was with them.
Eva is survived by her parents Dale and Jody Munk of the home, siblings Stephanie Munk-Adair (Shawn) of Junction City, KS, Jason Munk (Michelle) of Orem, UT and Megan Bailey (Brett) of Idaho Falls, ID. She is also survived by Grandparents Bart and Barbara Christenson of Provo, UT, nine nieces and nephews and many family members who will miss her.
The family would like to thank the many supporters who shared words of love and encouragement through TEAM EVA and the Make A Wish Foundation for granting Eva's final wish of a family reunion.
