Memorial Services for Ethel Vinson, 58, will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Second Missionary Baptist Church, 701 W. 10th, Junction City, KS with Pastor Leonard F. Gray officiating. Dinner will be served at the VFW following the services. Ethel passed away November 13, 2007 at her home in Junction City, KS. Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
Ethel Mae Vinson was born July 10, 1949 in Junction City, Kansas to George, Sr. and Willie B. (Ford) Vinson. They have preceded her in death.
Ethel attended Geary County USD #475 schools and graduated. She spent her entire life in the area. She raised her three children in Junction City and she worked on Fort Riley in the Dining Facilities for eight years until she was injured. Ethel never returned to work.
She was a different person after the injury, but she never stopped showing her love to family and friends. She was big hearted and always doing things for others. She was out-going and loved to cook. Spending time with family and friends was her greatest joy.
Ethel is survived by: Clentell Alexander of the home; her three children, Maurice D. Vinson (Azure D.) of Junction City; Georgia Ann Vinson-Hatcher (Antonio) of Petersburg, VA; and Chantell Marie Vinson (John Scott, Jr.) of Thompson, GA; ten siblings, Vera L. Coachman, Manhattan, KS; George Earl Vinson, Jr., San Bernardino, CA; Velma Robinson-Davis, Junction City, KS; Wilma Jean Robinson, Madison FL; Beverly A. Molina, Lawton, OK; Richard Wayne Vinson, Hutchinson, KS; Brenda L. Flugence, TX; Dewonna Goodrich, Junction City, KS; Linda Perry, Toledo, OH; and Felix Vinson, Junction City, KS; her step-mother, Linda Vinson; in-laws, Mary Alexander, TX; Herbert Alexander of Junction City; Irene Alexander, TX; and Clent Alexander, Junction City, KS; five grandchildren, Jacqueline M. Vinson, Arron Michael Vinson, Kyle M. Vinson, Maiya Vinson Scott and Jai Vinson Scott; one great-grandchild and a host of aunts, uncle, cousins and friends.
