Ethel Laura Koppenheffer, 91 of Junction City, passed away on Thur., Feb. 12, 2004 at the Geary Community Hospital in Junction City. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Mon., Feb. 16, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel with the burial at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15, at the funeral home. Pastor Rick Marrs of the Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Donor's Choice.
She was born Jan. 30, 1913 in Geary County, KS, the daughter of George and Emma (Erichsen) Shane. She was a lifelong resident of Geary County.
She was a homemaker and she was also a cook for USD 475 for over 20 years. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and also the McDowell Creek E.H.U.
She was married to Myrl Raymond Koppenheffer on Aug. 6, 1939 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Geary County. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2002.
Survivors include one son, Stephen Koppenheffer of Junction City and one daughter Sylvia Weinberg of Longmont, CO., two sisters, Gladys Dietrich of Junction City and Myrna Erickson of Salina, three Grandsons, Jeffrey Koppenheffer, Roger Koppenheffer and Paul Weinberg, two granddaughters, Laura Cornejo and Jacqueline Weinberg and one great-grandson, Jackson Koppenheffer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Mae Cynova and one brother, Harvey Shane.
Casket bearers will be Jeffrey Koppenheffer, Roger Koppenheffer, Paul Weinberg, Mike Morgan, Oswaldo Carnejo and Clifford Engstrom.
