Ethel D. Holt

Funeral services for Ethel "Dee Dee" Holt, 68, of Junction City, will be held Saturday, April 1, 2006, 10 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, with Pastor Redo Purnell officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2006, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Holt passed away March 25, 2006 at Geary Community Hospital. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, Heartland Division, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64105.

Mrs. Holt was born March 22, 1938, in Fort Riley, KS, daughter of Tully B. and Lyndall (Porter) Bond. She was a homemaker and cared not only for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but for many other children in the Junction City and Fort Riley area.

Mrs. Holt married Simon Holt, Sr. January 20, 1956 in Kansas City, MO; he survives of Junction City.

Other survivors include two sons, Stanton S. Holt of El Dorado, KS and Joel J. Holt of Lawton, OK, our daughters, Linda D. Green of Junction City, KS, Darla J. Pippins of Columbus, MS, Janet Y. Lee (husband David) of Junction City, KS, and Deborah R. Wooten (husband Curtis) of Junction City, KS, two brothers, Harold H. Bond of Tacoma, WA and Talton M. Bond of Pittsburg, PA, one sister, Marva L. Bond of Junction City, KS; granddaughter she raised, Marcia D. Ferguson (husband Jared) of El Paso, TX; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Tully B. Bond, Jr., Edgar Bond, DeCovan Bond, Jerome Bond and Charles Bond; 3 sisters, Manuella Carter, Josephine Jackson and Janet Davis and one son, Simon Holt, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Wooten, Jared Ferguson, William Hull, Garland Hull, Simon Pippins and Justin Greene.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Stanton S. Holt, Harold H. Bond and Talton M. Bond

Music will be provided by Tracy and Tamara Purnell.
