Ernest (Ernie) Wofford, passed over to his spiritual world on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2017 at his residence north of Abilene
Born December 3, 1946, he served three tours in Vietnam with the Navy, two on patrol river boats (PRB's).
The Austin, TX native was designing and building gates, fences, "Ironaments", and yard art when he met his true love, Betsy Buffalo in 1983. They wed in 1988 and bought a run down farm in Dickinson County, which they restored to a paradise they called Windy Hill Primitive.
Ernie was an artist, welder, farmer, conservationist, and survivor.
He left behind his wife, Betsy Baldwin; special daughter, Michele of Kansas City, MO; his dog, Hobo and his cats, Dot and Dash.
He is with all his four-legged friends, giving pet treats and rubs.
A memorial service will be held in the spring. Memorial contributions are suggested to Animal Rescue, Elise Brooks, Dickinson County Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
