Funeral services for E-7 Emil Graham US Army (Ret), 73, Junction City will be 10:00am Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Second Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Leonard Gray and Pastor Aubrey Toombs officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Fort Riley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS.

Born February 4, 1933 to Emil Graham and Lucille Chilcoat. Emil and his siblings lived at 923 Genasee, Kansas City, MO -"West Bottoms" He obtained the nickname of "Stew" at early age.

With the passing of his mother, Emil helped with the raising of his siblings working for the Sante Fe Railroad in Kansas City, KS.

Emil served 20 faithful years in the United States Army as a cook. He received the Korean Service Medal , The Bronze Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He retired as a Sergeant First Class (E7).

Emil also retired from civilian service after a considerable amount of time. He also spent some time working at Goodyear in Topeka, Kansas. When making his home in Junction City as a retiree, he enjoyed business in real estate as he owned several properties in the area, and had many tenants through the years.

Emil was a big sports fan; he loved baseball, basketball, and boxing amongst a few….. but no one could contend with his home team the Kansas City, Chiefs!

However no one or nothing could compare to the love that he had for his family. He touched each and every one of our lives in different ways. He was a great positive influence in the life of family and friends alike.

Survived by: his wife of the home Stella Mae Graham (Junction City, KS), three daughters Lois M. Ward (Kevin)(Hanscom AFB MA), Mattie M. Oakman (Lenexa, KS), Nancy M. Boyd (Junction City, KS) and one niece that he reared as his own Teresa L. Oakman Yuille (Junction City, KS). Three brothers, Alfred Oakman(Marie), (Kansas City), Robert Oakman,(Kansas City) and Norman Smith (Kansas City).

Dearest to his heart his grandchildren: Sharon Boyd Crumpton, Valeria Henderson, Risha Gardner, Monica Boyd Brown, Tericka Yuille, Danielle Oliver, Enrique Perez, Eric Oakman, Myron Boyd, Johnny Boyd (deceased), William Boyd, Robert Boyd, Dominique Powell. His great grandchildren: Myron Boyd Jr., Tamika Waters, Robert Boyd II, Bryan Crumpton, Garreth Crumpton, Jharrell Boyd.

His greatest joys, his Nieces and Nephews: Michael (Linda) Green, Leroy (Debbie) Green Jr., Renee (Edward) Quinn, Karl A. Green (deceased), Rodney (Shirley Green, Gary (Heidemarie) Green, and Tara (Thomas) Baldin, Herbert Smith, Kenneth Woods, Regina Smith, and Margaret (Greg) Bolton, Joyce Oakman, Henry (Cynthia) Oakman, Carl (Radell) Oakman,Clarence's children.



Preceded in death by his parents, Two brothers Clarence Oakman and Edward Oakman; four sisters Alice Oakman, Henrietta Oakman, Florence Green, and Loretta Oakman.



Pallbearers will be Fort Riley Honor Guard.
