Elsie P. Beavers, 75. of Junction City, KS, passed away January 13, 2005 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be Sunday, January 16, 2005, 6-8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. rosary at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Monday, January 17, 2005, 10 a.m., at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Bishop George Fitzsimons officiating. Burial will follow at Humboldt Cemetery. Elsie was born September 18, 1929 in Meade County, KS the daughter of Joseph and Pearl (Pontius) Paden. Elsie received a AA degree in medical records. Elsie worked at Geary Community Hospital in medical records and retired from the hospital.
Elsie a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church. Elsie was a active member of the Geray County Historical Society, she helped form the Family Researchers Group with the society.
Elsie was married to John Joseph Beavers January 21, 1950 at St. Xavier Catholic Church. He preceded her in death January 17, 1997.
Survivors include. four daughters: Paula Beavers, San Antonio, TX; Mary Reed Junction City, KS; Karen Griffiths Norton, KS; Jolene Vega Sierra Vista, AZ. three Sons: John Beavers Chapman, KS; Robert Beavers Galena, KS; Pat Beavers Junction City, KS; three Sisters: Norma Locke, Wichita, KS; Alta Jo Bruce, Wichita KS; Esther Osborn; Gridley, KS: one brother Merrill Paden El Dorado, KS; and 11 grandchildren.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Laura Sterling, John Griffiths, Joel Griffiths, Paul Vega, Jerod Beavers, Jacob Beavers and Jace Beavers.
