Eloise Lorraine Miles

Funeral services for Eloise Lorraine Miles, 91 Junction City, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at First Christian Church 1429 St. Mary's Rd. with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday April 4, 2009 at Mt. Hope Cemetery West of Clyde, Kansas. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. April 3, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 North Washington. Mrs. Miles passed away March 28, 2009 at Chapman Valley Manor.

Daughter of Emma Leah (Bowersox) and Lester Flick was born May 25, 1917 in Agenda, KS. She graduated High School in Agenda. Took Normal Teacher Training and taught in one room schools in the area of Agenda and Clyde. She went on to get her degree from Emporia State in 1963. Moved to Junction City in 1964 and taught at Custer Hill until 1982 when she retired. At this time she had a Master's degree for teaching. Married June 6, 1943 in Paris, TX to Raymond Glen Miles who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, sister, 2 brothers, 2 sons, Lester Dale, Robert Gene and one grandson David Lee Miles II. Survivors are daughter Janet (Larry) Johnston Lansing, MI, David L Miles of the home, 7 grandchildren: Dana, Nicole, James, Jermiah (Andrea), Zachery Miles all of Tucson AZ, Amy (Frank) Hill, Kevin Johnston of Lansing MI, Tamara (Dave) Huston of Pennsylvania, 6 great grandchildren and other relatives.
