Edward W. Snyder, 83, of Milford (formerly of Cheektowaga, NY), passed away Sept. 18, 2003 at Geary Community Hospital. A memorial service will be held Thurs., Sept. 25, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Xavier's Catholic Church, with Father Al Brungardt officiating. There will be no visitation, as cremation is planned. Edward was born Nov. 5, 1919, Buffalo, NY to John and Bertha (Mathias) Snyder. He married Arlene Elizabeth Deck Sept. 17, 1955, Cheektowaga, NY. Edward was a veteran of WWII, where he served with Service Company 41st Armored Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Division "Hell On Wheels." After leaving the Army, he worked for the town of Cheektowaga until his retirement in 1983. Edward and his wife moved from Cheektowaga in Nov. 2001 to Milford.
He was a member of St. Xavier's Catholic Church, and an American Legion Lifetime Member Post #0622, Cheektowaga, NY.
Edward is survived by his wife Arlene of Milford; one son: Martin Snyder and wife Debbie of Milford; and two grandchildren: Jeremy and Amy Snyder of Milford. He was preceded in death by his parents.
