Edna Mae Jackson, 94, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her home. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Highland Cemetery. Fr. Gnanasekar Kulandi will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 - 1:45 p.m. prior to the graveside service at Johnson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
She was born on May 1, 1927, Junction City, Kansas to Alonzo "Lon" and Frances (Neyer) Aberwald.
She was a life long member of St. Xavier Catholic Church in Junction City. Edna worked as a sales associate for J.C. Penney in Junction City. Edna enjoyed keeping her hands busy. She made many personalized hanging tea towels and pot holders. She was fondly called the "Cake Lady". However, she made many loaves of banana bread and batches of cookies. Her specialty was making caramel corn. She sold many bags of caramel corn locally and in Missouri. She always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed talking to anyone she came in contact with. She was a wonderful human being and a wonderful aunt to her family. Everyone should be so blessed!
On May 15, 1946 she married Paul Jackson. Paul passed away February 18, 1999. Their only child Robert Lee Jackson was born on March 12, 1947. He passed away November 9, 1966.
She is survived by her niece, Kay F. Kearney of Peculiar, MO; great-niece, Lee Ann O'Neal and husband Tim of Conway, AK; great-nephew, Douglas Kearney and wife Jana of Peculiar, MO; two great-great nieces, Joy Duvall and husband Jordan and Paige O'Neal; one great-great-great nephew, Tristin Duvall; one great-great-great niece, Presley Duvall; and a host of many other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, son Robert and one sister, Margaret Branic.
