Edith Alene Mullally, born Oct 1, 1915, left here Feb 23, 2009, to join her loved ones in heaven. She was the youngest of five children born to Lelia Roberts and Glenn Rash. Her wonderful husband, Jeremiah Benedict Mullally, preceded her on Nov 23, 1995. Her grandson, Doug Brown, was killed in a highway accident just four months later. Her beloved daughter, Geraldine, died from lung cancer May 1, 2008. Geraldine had been her caregiver for several years. She had been living with her other daughter, Patti, since April of 2007. Her hip broke on Feb 6, surgery performed the next day, but she never fully recovered.
Grandma Edie was a life-long resident of Junction City. She dearly loved all of her friends here and was happiest when surrounded by her children and their families. In her younger years she also loved to travel and could be "ready to go" with just a moment's notice. When not getting her suitcase packed, she could be found working a crossword puzzle or hoping to challenge someone in a game of Scrabble. She loved to play cards especially Pinochle and will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor - she made us laugh. What's more important than that?
Left behind to mourn her passing are her daughter, Patti, and her husband, Richard (Skip) Brown of Springfield, MO. Their daughter Angie and husband, Michael Pivac, and their three children, Alexandra, Grant, & Sara. Grandson Danny Jackson and wife Dana, stationed in Fort Belvoir, VA, and their five children, Danielle, Patrick, Breanna, Eion, & Danny, Jr. Grandson Matt Jackson and wife Sierra and their two children, Mattie Kay and Jake. And great-grandson Logan Brown, who lives in Everton, MO.
