Edgar A. Glessner, 87, of Junction City, died Sunday, April 5, 2015 in Abilene. Edgar was born Nov. 14, 1927 at Alta Vista, the son of August and Fern (Easter) Glessner. Edgar attended schools at Alta Vista and was retired as Road Supervisor for the Geary County Highway Dept. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Edgar married Genevieve A. Strom on Mar. 7, 1952 in Junction City. She survives. Other survivors include: 3 sons, David Glessner and wife Patricia, San Antonio, TX, Darrel Glessner, Manhattan, and Dana Glessner and wife Cassie, Abilene; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter. Edgar was preceded in death by his daughter, Dr. Linda Glessner on Jan. 12, 2013; and by brothers, Walter and Cecil; and by sisters, Merita McDiffett, Iris Rogers, and Helen Bennett.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Welcome Cemetery near Alta Vista. Memorial contributions may be given to the FFA Scholarship Fund, sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, 805 Caroline, Junction City, KS 66441.
