Earl E. Hayter, 90, of Junction City, passed away on June 28, 2017 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 6p.m. to 8pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington Street. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow the services at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
He was born on January 22, 1927, Polk County, Missouri to Earl and Lois (Fox) Hayter. He served in the Army during WWII and he worked for Civil Service in Medical Supply at Irwin Army Community Hospital for 34 years, retiring from there in 1982. Earl then worked for Milleson Auto Supply delivering parts to local businesses and customers for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and he loved to fish.
On August 13, 1965 he married Gloria (Wunder) she preceded him in death May 25, 2008.
Earl is survived by his five daughters, Brenda (Les) Isom of Manhattan, KS, Linda McGaw of Junction City, KS, Marsha (Tom) Canaday of Olathe, KS, Cindy (Jim) Huizingh of South Jordan, UT, Sheila (Ronnie) Kelly of Olathe, KS; his brother, Byrle (Jenny) Hayter of Springfield, MO; Fourteen Grandchildren, Jordan Kelly, Garrett Isom, Jamie Weems, Randie McGaw, Pat McGaw, Nichole McGaw, Tara Ruff, Tim Canaday, Brandon Huizingh, Kim Plott, John Huizingh, Andre Kelly, Amber Miller, Aaron Kelly; Twenty-Two Great-Grandchildren and his dear friend Marcena Keating of Junction City, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Raymond and Orville Hayter and one great-grandchild, Tressa Canaday and Son-in-Law, Randy McGaw
