Services for SFC (RET) Earl Dority, 75, of Junction City, will be Monday, April 19, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Our Savior United Methodist Church. Reverend Jason Ferguson and Elouise Bly Morris will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, April 18, 2004, 6 - 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel. Burial will be at Fort Riley Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Dority passed away at Valley View Professional Care Center on April 14, 2004. Memorial contributions may be given to the Geary Community Health Care Foundation, c/o Home Health Care, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mr. Dority was born April 14, 1929 at Columbia, GA to Hezikah and Lizzy (White) Dority. He served in the U S Army retiring as an E-7 in 1978, he then worked for Civil Service at Fort Riley in the Publications Warehouse and Carpenter Shop retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Church of Our Savior United Methodist Church, the Landlords Association, Masonic Lodge of Augusta, GA and the United Methodists Men's Group. He had been a resident of Junction City since 1978. He married Marie Maxwell Hornbuckle October 7, 1978, Junction City.
He is survived by his wife; Marie H. Dority of Junction City, four sons; Earl Dority, Jr. of Bronx, NY, Maurice Hornbuckle of Junction City, MSG Keith Hornbuckle of Japan, and Mark Hornbuckle of Kansas City, KS, three daughters; Linda Watson of Brooklyn, NY, Patricia Oats of Augusta, GA and Tamre Peterson of El Paso,TX, two brothers; Russell Dority of Augusta, GA and Lewis Dority of West Palm Beach, FL, two sisters; Inez Freeman and Mary Smith both of Augusta, GA, seven granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Delilah Lamkins and one brother; Theodore Dority
