Earl T. Boland, 88, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Chapman Valley Manor in Chapman, KS. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Chapel 203 N. Washington Street Junction City, KS. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the funeral service on Saturday. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Friends of Animals or Junction City Animal Shelter.
Earl was born March 15, 1930, Flat River, MO, the son of Kelly and Lizzie (Welland) Boland. Earl worked as a carpenter and furniture maker for many years. He also rebuilt cars, watching sporting events on tv, attending the mud bog events, drag racing and working in the yard. He enjoyed the 4th of July and family gatherings at the home. Over the years, he enjoyed many road trips with his wife and trips to the casino. Earl also enjoyed eating biscuits and gravy at Stacy's and Cracker Barrel in Junction City where he became part of the restaurants family.
Earl married Janice "Jan" Bradshaw December 12, 1959, in Junction City, KS. She passed away December 30, 2013.
Survivors include four sons, Tom Boland, Eric Boland (Brenda) , Brad Boland (Heather M.) and Jason Boland (Heather J.) all of Junction City, KS; three daughters, Jackie Ayers (Kerry), of Farmington, MO, Kelley Boland (Carl Bachand) of Junction City, KS and Shannon Rolfs (Tom) of Milford, KS. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren; Missy, Rusty (Kim), Christie (Jim), Casie (John), Shelby, Brian, Becky (Alex), Jenny (Paul), Aaron, TJ, Lizzie (Carl), Dana, Brett (Amanda), Caitlin, Joshua, Quinn, Cassie (Tony), Jerrad, Ryan, and Reece; nineteen great-grandchildren, Indy, Rita, Trenton, Caden, Jordan, Emily, Conner, Arianna, Zachary, Jacob, Grace, Morgan, Carson, Jordyn, Logan, Jed, Cameron, Ry and Jameson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janice "Jan" Boland; parents Kelly and Lizzie Boland, two sisters, Viola Daniely and Virgie Brown; one brother, Jesse Boland; one son, Russ Boland; two grandchildren, Montana and Jeremy.
