E. Beth Upham, 85, formerly of Junction City, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Leonardville Nursing Home in Leonardville. Beth was born January 6, 1933 in Topeka, the daughter of Alfred and Bertha (Meyer) Raab. She attended schools in Topeka and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1950.
Beth worked as a dispatcher for Kansas Power & Light at the Junction City office for 17 years.
Beth married Wayne Upham on June 4, 1950 in Topeka. Wayne died Oct. 23, 1996.
Beth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Junction City, and was a Life Member of the Geary County Historical Society. She also volunteered with the Literacy Council.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Doug Upham and his wife Jeannie, and Scott Upham, all of Junction City; a daughter, Gayla Jensen and her husband Jay, Shawnee; a granddaughter, Kendra Ediger and her husband Cameron, Kingwood, Texas; and 2 great-grandchildren, Caleb and Katelynn Ediger. Beth was preceded in death by her husband Wayne; her parents; and a brother, Gene Raab.
It was Beth's wishes to be cremated.
A Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Junction City, with Rev.Ronnie Roberts presiding. Burial of the ashes will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Junction City.
