Doyle Glenn Rushing, 84, of Junction City, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his home. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene with Pastors Mark Hatcher and Doyle Williams officiating. The cremated remains will be buried at a later date at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Junction City Church of the Nazarene.
Doyle was born April 4, 1936 at Booneville, Arkansas the son of Nathan Jasper and Della Isabella (Tackett) Rushing.
Doyle served in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, he worked various United States Civil Service jobs at various locations. His main vocation in Junction City was owning and operating Rushing and King Carpet Cleaning Business. He also was an over the road truck driver for some time.
On May 5, 1962, he married Sharolyn (Sharri) Marie Stevens in Junction City, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife Sharolyn (Sharri) of the home in Junction City; one son, Kevin Rushing and his wife Melinda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Vanessa Eisermann and her husband James of Junction City, Kansas and Dixie Stewart and her husband Randy of Cashion, Oklahoma; two brothers, Warren Rushing of Booneville, Arkansas and Billy Rushing of Tupman, California; one sister, Pauline Best of Bakersfield, Californina; seven grandchildren, Whittany Eisermann and fiance Anthony, Kendra McPherson and husband Matt, Kyle Eisermann and his wife Brianna, Ethan Stewart and fiance Meghan, Amy Fortune and husband Terry, Ryleigh Rushing and Katelyn Rushing; three great-grandchildren, Aurelia, Acacia and Connor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Albert Rushing.
