Douglas "Doug" E. Homan left this world for his next adventure on June 28, 2014 from his home in White City, Kansas.
He was born August 7, 1949 to Ross L. and Evelyn E. Homan in Salina, Kansas, and spent his childhood in Minneapolis, Kansas causing mischief and pestering his little sister, Nancy. He graduated from Minneapolis High School, attended K-State, and graduated from Marymount College.
Doug was a master tinkerer, creator, builder, storyteller, mentor, and a friend to all who crossed his path. He imparted his unique way of seeing this world on everyone, leaving a little piece of himself in all he met. Count yourself among the lucky ones if you were able to visit with him until the sun came up, learning all about his theories concerning this world and the world beyond, and getting to hear him laugh until he cried.
Those remaining on this plane of existence include his children, Heather Morin, Mandy Loader, C. Grace MacMillan (Colin), and Joshua Homan (Heidy); his grandchildren, Stephen, Michael, Liam, Piper, and Jacob; a sister, Nancy Pankratz (Charles); his niece and nephew, Sonja and Jason Pankratz; his best friend, Roxanne Wageman; a multitude of cousins and other relatives, and too many friends to count.
Doug's parents and grandparents preceded him in death.
The family is planning a memorial service when Doug's son, Joshua, returns from Peru in 2015, but encourages all who knew him to honor his memory however they see fit.
Donations can be made in Doug's name to Sunset Spiritualist Church, 103 Hanes St. Wells, Kansas 67467-5010.
