Dorothy S.M.(Shandy) Thierer, 95, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Valley View Senior Life Center. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Highland Cemetery in Wakefield, KS. Rev. Rex Matney will officiate. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Friends of Animals P.O. Box 580 Junction City, KS. 66441
Dorothy was born May 25, 1924, the daughter of Carl Sidney and Dorothy Irene (Diehl) Shandy.
Dorothy worked as a hostess and waitress for many years at various restaurants in Junction City. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking.
She married Frank Thierer in 1979. He passed away in 1998.
Survivors include four sons, Robert F. Tartaglia of Manhattan, KS, William M. Osbourn and his wife Vannessa of Junction City, KS, Leon D. Osbourn and wife Lisa of Junction City, KS and Jerry Lee Osbourn and wife Jo of Milford, KS; one daughter, Kaye M. McCaleb and husband Darrel of Junction City, KS; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Frank.
