Funeral services for Dorothy L. Williams, 87, of Junction City will be held at Thursday 11a.m., November 30, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Troy Slater officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Riley Cemetery. Mrs. Williams passed away November 27, 2006 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., tonight at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Dorothy was born February 8, 1919 in Leavenworth, KS the daughter of Helmuth H. and Margaret A. (Falk) Theel. She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1936, and on November 14, 1941 she married William T. (Tom) Williams. She spent her younger years as an Army wife as she accompanied Tom throughout his 30 year military career.
Dorothy loved to cook and was known by many for her cooking and baking talents. She was a very dedicated member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Junction City, where she was involved in many church activities. Dorothy spent her final year making new friends at the Sterling House in Junction City.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 21, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Margie, and her brother Elmer.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Don Printy, Junction City KS; her granddaughter Julie (Hilterbrand) DeVolder and husband Mark of Shawnee, KS; her great-grandchildren, Brock and Alaina DeVolder, of Shawnee; and step-grandson Van Printy of Junction City.
Organist will be LaDonna Junghans.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Zeigler, Bob Petri, Jerry Smith, Gayle Cynova, Randy Dean and Curtis Hiedel.
Honorary Pallbearers will be David Theel, Kevin Theel, Paul Nietzke, and August Kunz.
