A memorial service for Dorothy E. "Dottie" Seitz, 92, of Junction City will be 10 a.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Episcopal Church of the Covenant with Father Dale Plummer officiating. A private family committal will take place at Fort Riley Cemetery. Dorothy passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Wakefield. Memorial contributions may be given to the Episcopal Church of the Covenant, 314 N. Adams Street, Junction City, KS 66441 or to the Disabled American Veterans VA Hospital-Bldg #24 RM 106G, 2200 SW Gage Blvd Topeka, KS 66622. Cremation has taken place with the assistance of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.

Dorothy was born July 27, 1918, in Waterloo, IA the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Penaluna. Dorothy attended public schools in Iowa.

Dorothy married Col. Eugene Thomas Seaburn. He passed away. She later married Brig. General John "Andy" Seitz on September 8, 1979. He passed away in 1987.

Dorothy was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Covenant where she served on the Alter Guild for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Reading Club; Chapter AR of P.E.O; Little Theatre and the Little Theatre Guild and the Old Trooper Regiment.

She is survived by one daughter Linda Evans and her husband Ray of Junction City and one step-son Col. John Andrew Seitz III. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Regan Hanover, Bryan Hanover and Shane Hanover and five great-grandchildren.
