A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS, for Dorothy Jo Barber, 81, Topeka, Kansas with Reverend Todd Britt officiating. Burial will follow the service at Fort Riley Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Brewster Place Retirement Community in Topeka, Kansas c/o Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel in Junction City, Kansas. Dorothy was Born December 24, 1925 in Sterling , KS the daughter of Loren H. and Hazel I. (Marshall) Ray. She graduated from Sterling High School. Dorothy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hutchinson, KS. She was a homemaker.

She married Richard M. Barber November 23, 1942 in Shreveport, LA. He preceded her in death November 10, 2001.

Dorothy is survived by Her children, Richie Diann Barber McDaneld and spouse Robert, Topoeka, KS, Phil Stephen Barber and spouse Bonnie, Wakefield, KS; and Priscilla Jane Barber Crowand spouse Mike: sisters Veldene Ray Wagerle, Sterling, KS, Lorene Ray Hogan, Oshkosh, WI, and a brother Ron Ray, Canyon City, CO; Grandchildren, Curt and Cara Hensley, Paul Barber, Tisha Barber Cannizzo, Andy Crow, Sara Crow ; great-grandchildren Collby Barber, Alexis Cannizzo, Ellie Cannizzo, Topher Cannizzo, Jacob Crow, Lucas Crow, and Grayson Aikmen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
