Doris L Sharp, 84, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015, at the Geary Community Hospital. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary's Cemetery. Doris was born August 22, 1930, in Peru, KS the daughter of Cecil Ezra and Marie Louise (Young) Hall. Doris has lived in Junction City since 1963 having moved from Topeka.
Doris was raised in Sedan, KS. She attended schools in Sedan and graduated from Sedan High School. Early in her career, she worked for the Oklahoma Tire Company as a Bookkeeper in Coffeyville, KS. She later moved to Valley Center, KS, where she was the Assistant to the County Clerk for Sedgwick County, KS. Doris worked for Dillon's Grocery Store in Junction City for many years prior to her retirement.
She married Charles William Sharp June 11, 1950, in Clovis, NM. He passed away in March of 1993.
Survivors include one son, Chuck Sharp and his wife Rhonda of Junction City, KS, two daughters, Sonji Dias and her husband Darryl of Hanford, CA and Cynthia Matthews of Herington, KS, ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one grandson.
