Services for Mrs. Doris M. Nagle, 84, of Junction City will be Friday, December 2, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Covenant with Father Dale Plummer officiating. Burial will be at Fort Riley Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2005, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mrs. Nagle passed away at her home on November 26, 2005. Memorial contributions may be given to the Episcopal Church of the Covenant, 314 N. Adams, Junction City, KS 66441 and/or the Homecare & Hospice Foundation, 323 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502.
Mrs. Nagle was born October 16, 1921, Junction City, KS to William John and Ora Mae (Laird) Hood. She was a military wife and homemaker. During World War II she worked as Ship Welder in Vancouver, WA. She also worked for the Army and Gibson's Discount Center.
She married Lawrence W. Nagle, October 11, 1941 in Junction City, KS. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2005.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Covenant. She was also a member of the Eagles #830 Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Anita (Nagle) Hernandez and husband David of Milford, KS, one son, Edward J. Nagle and wife Cathy (Hughes) Nagle of Junction City, KS, three sisters, Irene Stiffler and Mabel Kane of Junction City, KS and Mickey Hayes of Richardson, TX, one brother Richard Hood of San Antonio, TX, five grand children, David Hernandez of Topeka, KS, Joseph and Elizabeth Hernandez of Junction City and Sara and Joel Nagle of Junction City, KS and one great granddaughter, Isabel (Miller) Hernandez of Junction City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers Harley, Glenn, Ralph, Frank and Arthur Hood, and three sisters, Margaret Hood, Edith Duchane, and Florence Richardson.
Pallbearers will be Joel Nagle, David and Joseph Hernandez, and Steve and Gene Kane. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clarence Nagle, Richard Hood, Lou Hayes and Gene Hughes.
Vocalist will be Joan Keating. Organist will be Ramona Printz-Smith.
