Graveside services for Donna Marie McBride, 67, of Abilene, KS will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with Pastor Lorenzo Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held from 3p.m. to 5p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Mrs. McBride passed away on December 14, 2011 at Mercy Regional Health Center after a lengthy battle with Renal and Congestive Heart Failure. Memorial contributions have been designated to the Lighthouse Fellowship Church, 702 N. Webster, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mrs. McBride was born October 12, 1944, Lubbock, TX to Milton C. and Cololo (Britton) Newton. She married Rayburn McBride April 26, 1962 Orange, TX he survives of the home.
She was a homemaker and worked for Civil Service as a Dependent Youth Activity Coordinator. She was a member of the Lighthouse Fellowship Church and taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school she was also a lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary. She loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress.
She is survived by two sons; Ralph (Yvonne) McBride of Milford, KS and Doug (Reatha) McBride of Eureka, KS, one daughter; Pamela (Ed) Doss of Solomon, KS, three brothers; Richard Newton of San Diego, CA, Dale Newton of Orange, TX and Don Wallis of Silsbee, TX, two sisters; Judy Plaga of Chula Vista, CA and Debbie Carpenter of Jasper, TX, twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; and one sister.
