Funeral services for Donna Lee Karns, 80 of Junction City will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Zion United Church of Christ with Pastor Russ Glaser officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Zion United Church of Christ, 1811 McFarland Rd., Junction City, KS, from 6-8pm. Mrs. Karns passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at her home with family by her side. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Zion United Church of Christ.
Donna was born May 1, 1930 in Junction City, KS to Harry J. and Alice (Keller) Gfeller. She graduated from Dickinson County Community High School in 1948. Mrs. Karns was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 40 years and a member of Zion United Church of Christ where she had been a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Women's Guild.
She enjoyed playing bridge and played in several clubs. She enjoyed her Grandchildren and their many activities. She retired from Central National Bank as an assistant operations manager in bookkeeping and the item processing department after 29 years of service.
On September 13, 1953 she married Bruce H. Karns at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in Junction City. The couple had lived in Junction City all their married life.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Survivors include, one son, Brian J. Karns of Palm Springs, CA and a daughter Susan Kohman of Junction City. Four grandchildren, Todd, Shelly, Jana and Scott Kohman. A twin sister Rose Mary Roesler and husband Otto of Junction City. A sister-in-law Carol and husband Paul Hall of Kansas City, MO.
