Donna J. Alter, 86, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with Pastor Timothy McCall officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to Accord Hospice.
Donna was born November 2, 1934, in Junction City, KS, the daughter of Stephen and Esther (Settgast) Elmore.
Donna worked as a bookkeeper for the Arnold A. Gfeller Accounting Firm for many years. She graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1952. She enjoyed quilting and sewing.
She married James E. Alter July 29, 1975. He passed away October 2, 2010.
Survivors include one son, Mark Pugh of Junction City, KS; step-sons, James Alter, Jr., Christopher Alter, Robert Alter and Richard Alter; one step-daughter, Sherry (Alter) Bruce; two brothers, DeWane Elmore of Zepherhills, Fl and Allen Elmore of Junction City, KS; numerous nephews and nieces.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Harvey Elmore, Jack Elmore and James Elmore; two sisters, Shirley (Elmore) Burk and Arlene (Elmore) Bennett.
