Donald R "Red" Kelly, 80, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, May, 20, 2015, at Valley View Senior Life Center in Junction City. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel located at 203 N. Washington Street in Junction City. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Laurie Barnes officiating. The inurnment will follow the memorial service at Highland Cemetery with a Masonic Service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children 2001 S. Lindburgh Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63131 or to the First United Methodist Church 804 N. Jefferson Street Junction City, KS 66441.
Donald was born December 17, 1934, in Fort Monroe, VA, the son of Master Sergeant Forrest Fulton and Edith Mae (Estlinbaum) Kelly.
Donald attended Junction City Schools having graduated from Junction City High School in 1952. He worked for Goad Motors from 1952-1982. He then worked for First State Bank in Junction City from 1982-2006 having retired in 2006. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Junction City. Donald was a member of the Union Lodge No. 7 AF&AM, ISIS Shrine, and the Junction City-Fort Riley Shrine Club for 58 years. He became a life time member of the ISIS Shrine in 2007. He was a member of the Junction City-Fort Riley Shrine Mini Wheels since 1973. He served as President in 1974 and 2003. He made every annual ride to Salina from 1973 until 2014.
Donald married Roberta Pangrac August 11, 1961, at the First United Methodist Church in Junction City. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Matthew Kelly and his wife Linda of Mechanicsville, VA; David Kelly and his wife Natasha of Junction City, KS and Christopher Kelly and his wife Julie of Oologah, OK. He is also survived by four grandsons, Jordan, Kyle, Jacob and Caleb and two granddaughters, Caitlyn and Shannon. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Forrest and M.G. "Deke" and three sisters, Marge, Grace and Donna.
