May 7, 1934 — December 5, 2024

Junction City

Donald Bibbs departed from this earthly home on December 5, 2024, transitioned to his Heavenly home at the age of 90 years old.

Born May 7, 1934 to Pernette and Ada (Keys) Bibbs. Donald was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Donald received his education through the Philadelphia School System. Donald joined the United States Army. He served in the military from 1951 until 1956.

Donald was known by his family and close friends as “Winkie.” He loved and honored God. Donald was a great example as a father and was a wonderful Grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and was good at baseball, boxing and bowling (the three B’s). He received several trophies for bowling and for baseball. Donald loved to sing! Whenever he and his three sons were together, they were always expected to sing. He taught all his children to sing at an early age.

He also taught his children to love and fear God. Donald moved to Junction City, Kansas the year 2017. Donald was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church. Rev. Nathan Dudley was his pastor. Donald obeyed the Acts 2:38 message of salvation at the age of 83. He repented of his sins and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of his sins by his son, Charles Bibbs and God so graciously filled Donald with the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the spirit gave the utterance.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, four brothers - Robert, Bernard, Pernette and William Bibbs. Five sisters - Dorothy Peoples, Roberta Gardner, Jeanette Robinson, Geraldine Evans, Shirley Bibbs and one grand-daughter - Joy Victoria Lovgren.

Donald is survived by two sisters, Mildred Bibbs and Charlotte and (Leeroy) Fort; seven children, Donita Bibbs, Robert (Rochelle) Bibbs, Charles (Cathy) Bibbs, Donald (Demetrius) Bibbs, Marcella Bibbs, Joyce (Shadrich) Henderson and Tina and (Steveland) Russell.
