Donald Ray Baker, Jr.

March 7, 1965 — July 5, 2021

Donald Ray "Donnie" Baker Jr., 56, of Junction City, KS passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. A visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Johnson Funeral Home. The recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. at the conclusion of the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Gnanasekar Kulandai officiating. Burial will follow the service with military honors at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Veterans Community Project 8900 Troost Ave. Kansas City, MO 64131 www.veteranscommunityproject.org. Donnie was born March 7, 1965, the son of Donald Ray and Mary E. (Richau) Baker, Sr.

Donnie graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1983. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army. He spent most of his time in the Army in Germany. After returning to the United States with the Army, he worked as a military police officer on Fort Riley. After his service ended, he spent the rest of his career working various mechanic positions.

In 2005 he joined the Veterans Motorcycle Club and earned his patch. During this time he held the positions as President, Vice-President and Sergeant at Arms. He participated in various club activities including charity rides, fallen brother rides, and flag ceremonies to other states. He rejoined the club in 2020 and was re-patched January 1, 2021. Donnie participated in multiple fund raisers for Veterans organizations. His greatest joy in life was riding; he had friends stretched all over the state.

Donnie never met a stranger. He always had a smile and hug for everyone. He was a big, loud, fun loving teddy bear. Donnie always was ready to sing karaoke.

He met the love of his life Teresa in 1997 and they began dating in 2013. On October 26, 2019, he proposed.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Baker of Junction City, KS; two sons, Jeffery Michael Baker and Chance B. Baker; one brother, Michael Baker and his wife Mary and their daughters Lauren and Emily of Frankfort, IL; one sister, Stephanie Baker of Manhattan, KS; one grandson, Jayden and fiancé, Teresa Bonacorda;

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Baker, Sr.
