Dolores Aileen Ruder, 75, a former resident of Junction City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2009 on Easter Sunday at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, MO. A graveside service will be held for her at Highland Cemetery in Junction City on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 10 a.m., with Father Dale Plummer officiating.
She was the daughter of Tom and Agnes (McIntosh) Payne, and was born in Hays, Kansas on May 14, 1933. She graduated from high school in Hays, Kansas.
Dolores grew up on a farm in western Kansas. During those years, she was active in acrobatics, ballet and piano. But her true passion was her love for her horses.
On May 4, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Julius "Nick" Ruder in Yuma, Arizona. To this union were four children, Rex Allen Ruder, Michael Lee Ruder, Julie Dee Ruder, and John Scott Ruder. She was a devoted wife and mother and supported her husband through many business ventures.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and one son, Rex Allen Ruder. She is survived by three children; one daughter, Julie (Ruder) Chorice, Springfield; two sons, Michael Ruder of Russellville, Arkansas, John Ruder of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Harold Payne; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
