Dewey G. Moyer, 88, of Junction City, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. A graveside service with military honors will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Highland Cemetery. Pastor Will Ravenstein will officiate. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the First United Methodist Church or to the Junction City Animal Shelter.
Dewey was born March 12, 1934, in Enterprise, Kansas the son of Ernest and Ruth (Johnston) Moyer.
Dewey graduated from Junction City High School. He served in the United States Army in Korea. After returning from the Army, he worked for Napa Auto Parts in Junction City. In 1982, he had the opportunity to purchase the store. He owned and operated the store until 1990. He later owned and operated Dewey's Machine Shop in Junction City until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Midway Antique Auto Club.
On July 21, 1959, he married Gloria B. Peiker. She passed away in 2002. He later married Darlene Daymude on September 14, 2007. She passed away in 2011.
Dewey is survived by his son, Michael B. Moyer of Junction City, Kansas; daughter, Kimberly Hurley and her husband Dave of Junction City, Kansas; grandson, Nolan Moyer of Salina, Kansas; brother, Glenn Moyer of Magnolia, Mississippi; sister, LaVeta McGlaughlin of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gloria B. Moyer and wife Darlene Moyer.
