Dennis J. Longhofer, 48 of rural Junction city, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 under hospice care. A visitation will be held at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St., from 6-8pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. A private family burial will be held at the Welcome Cemetery. Dennis was born to Rodger and Clarice (Rogers) Longhofer November 23, 1962 in Needles, California. He moved to Geary County with his parents in April of 1965.
He attended schools in Junction City and Chapman, Kansas graduating from Chapman High School in 1981. He was a 10 year Geary county 4-H member.
He is survived by his parents; brother Duane (Monica) of Castle Pines, CO; a sister Deena McGrath (Greg) of Fort Collins, CO; his Grandmother Anna Longhofer of Las Vegas, NV; and nieces, Allyson, Lexi and Jillian. He also had many aunts, uncles and cousins who enriched his life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William (Bill) and Clara Rogers and grandfather Oscar Longhofer.
