Dennis Bruno Herdzina

Dennis Bruno Herdzina, 73, of Junction City, KS, passed away on August 12, 2020. Johnson Funeral Home of Junction City is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. A private family gathering is scheduled for a later date.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Dennis was born on October 1, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating high school, he entered into service with the United States Army and served proudly for many years. He married Elsie Gaye Tygrett, and he and his small family lived in many places domestic and abroad. He was awarded many honors and decorations including but not limited to: the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal w/ Bronze Star, Army Lapel Button, Army Achievement Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), NCO Professional Development Ribbon "3", Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Overseas Service Ribbon "3", Mechanics Badge, Expert (Pistol 9mm), Southwest Asia Service Medal W/3 Bronze Stars, Kuwait Lineration Medal, Drill Sgt I.D. Badge, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-16A1), Expert (Hand Grenade). After his honorable service, he called Junction City, Kansas, his home.
Dennis was an outdoorsman and family man. He will be missed.
Dennis is survived by his loving family: Wife, Gaye of the home; his two daughters Korina Gaye LaFitte and Christina Michelle Adney both of Junction City, KS; his two grandsons Mathew David William and Jessie Daniel Kopietz both of Junction City, KS; one granddaughter Pantera Ruby Adney of Junction City, KS; and a host of loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
