Fechner, 62 of Junction City, KS will be held at Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, Thursday, September 5, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Bryan Jones will officiate and the Eulogy by Fred Deal. Del died August 31, 2002 at Geary Community Hospital, Junction City, Kansas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2002, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Junction City, Kansas with military honors. 66502-2911. Del was born August 13, 1940, Mcpherson, KS to Gus and Lora (Ackers) Fechner. Del graduated from Colby High School in 1958, he lettered in Football and Basketball. He also attained the designation of Eagle Scout during his high school studies. After graduation he served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer 3. After the Navy he attended Louisiana State University and Fort Hays State University where he was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. He Married Rosemary Gilson June 11, 1967, Plainville, KS, she survives of the home. Del spent his entire working career in the insurance industry, finally retiring in June 2001 after 25 years of service with Nationwide Insurance Company. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed his family pets and was a fan of Kansas State University Athletics. He was a member of United Methodist Church, he was a proud member of the Elk's Lodge once
