Deborah "Debbie" Lynn Miller, of Junction City Kansas, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2014.
She was born in North Canton, Ohio on August 21, 1955, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Wright.
Debbie served in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1981 and the Navy Reserve. Her first assignment was at the Secretary of the General Staff Office. HQ & HQlll Corps, Fort Hood, Texas, under LT General Shoemaker. In 1977 through 1980, she was assigned to the Mainz Army Depot and the Mainz Composite Team, in Mainz, Germany. Until leaving the Army, the last duty assignment, was with the Adjutant General, Personnel Office in Fort Riley, Kansas. With the Navy Reserve, she served with the Personnel Mobilization Team in Topeka, Kansas. During Desert Storm, she worked with the Officer Records Section, in Fort Riley, Kansas, preparing the troops for deployment.
Debbie was a pianist at the Alida-Upland Cooperative Parish Church in Junction City, Kansas, a Junior Girl Scout Leader with the Kansas Heartland Girl Scouts in Chapman, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #830 of Junction City, Kansas. Over the years, she worked at the Tupperware Company, Wichita Eagle Beacon Newspaper, and Club Manger of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and as a housekeeper. In Deborah's younger years, she played the clarinet in the Jackson Junior and High School Band.
Debbie was a talented musician, and enjoyed using her musical gifts to praise God at her church. She loved children, and spent many hours making quilts for the church. She loved animals, and enjoyed watching deer and other wildlife. Debbie also loved tending her garden and caring for her roses. She was greatly loved by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Vernon Edholm, parents, Lawrence and Mary Wright, brother, Dale Wright.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 28 years, Paul Miller, her daughters, Bonnie (Jerry) Wright of Alabama, Tina (James) Edholm of Missouri, brother Robert Wright, sisters, Ruth (Dan) Fosnaught, Betty (Steve) Senger from North Canton, Ohio, two grandchildren, Jessi Wright of Alabama and Kylen Edholm of Missouri along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Alida-Upland Cooperative Parish Church in Junction City, Kansas officiated by Pastor Rob Bolton, at 11:00 am on Friday, March 14, 2014. Burial with a Graveside service will be held at a later date at North Lawn Cemetery in North Canton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage friends and loved ones to make a donation in Debbie's memory to the Alida-Upland Cooperative Parish Church in Junction City, Kansas.
