David L. Morris, Sr.

A visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, February 15, 2011, at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street for David L. Morris, Sr., 89, of Junction City, KS. Mr. Morris passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the Valley View Senior Life in Junction City, KS. A funeral service will be conducted at a later date at the Mission Park Funeral Chapel North in San Antonio, TX. with full military honors and burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. Memorial contributions may be given to the Valley View Senior Life Center, 1417 W. Ash Street, Junction City, KS 66441.

Mr. Morris was born March 12, 1922, in Fort Worth, TX. the son of Arlie Estes and Nettie Ann (Cook) Morris.

David served in the United States Air Force having retired after 22 years of service. He later owned and operated a service station in San Antonio for three years. After relocating to Junction City, he worked for the Army Air Force Exchange at Fort Riley.

He married Joyce M. Gilbert January of 1943. She passed away August of 1996.

Survivors include four sons, David L. Morris, Jr. and his wife Linda of Center, TX; Jack G. Morris and his wife Liz of San Antonio, TX; Michael R. Morris and his wife Sheila of Wilsey, KS. and Don Morris and his wife Linda of Junction City, KS. He is survived by one sister Frieda Merrell of Hurst, TX. and 13 grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren..

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
