David Cynova

David S. Cynova, 78 of Junction City, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2002 at the Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, Kansas. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2002 at the St. Xavier Catholic Church with the burial at the St. Marys Cemetery in Junction City. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday April 14, 2002 at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. He was born on January 2, 1924 in Loup City, Nebraska to Alex and Clara Grudzinski Cynova. He married Virginia Cross on January 4, 1944 in Oberlin, Kansas, she survives of the home. Mr. Cynova served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) from 1941-1943 he then served in the Army Air Corps from 1943-1946 as a Tech-5. He then worked for Alexander Implements and the Mohn Implements until 1980, then he started his own business Dave's Repair until his retirement in 1996. He was a resident of Junction City for 55 years. He was a member of the St. Xavier Catholic Church, he served as the head usher for 28 years, he was also a member of the Eagles and he was a Third Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He is Survived by his wife, Virginia Cynova, Junction City, KS.; Five Sons, Jerry Cynova of Memphis, TN., Jim Cynova of Junction City, KS., William Cynova of Wichita, KS., Robert Cynova of Jeff City, MO., and Daniel Cynova of Rockledge, FL.; Two Daughters, Janet Miller of Junction City, KS., and Beverly Thornberg of Omaha, NE.; Two Brothers, Leo Cynova of Columbus, NE. and Ralph Cynova of Grand Island, NE.; One Sister, Francis "Fran" Evans of Clifton, CO. and Twelve Grandchildren and Fifteen Great-Grandchildren. He was proceded in death by his Parents, Two Sisters, Rosella and Cecelia; One Brother, Bruno and One Great-Grandchild, Dakota. Memorial Contributions may be sent to the Ronald McDonald House, 825 SW Buchanan, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
