David W. Baughman, 63, of Riley, KS, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2018.
Dove Cremation and Funeral Service of Junction City, Kansas, is assisting family with cremation arrangements.
David was born on November 7, 1954, in Junction City, Kansas to Clifford and Norma Jean (Spittles) Baughman. As a boy he went to school in Junction City. The family moved to Reservation Rd. while he was in the third grade. He finished his schooling in the Riley County School District and graduated from Riley County High School in the class of 1972. David married Jeanie Renner on May 31, 1974, in Junction City, Kansas. They lived in Leonardville, Kansas for several years before moving to Riley, Kansas where they stayed ultimately settled down.
David was a hard worker. After high school he went to work with his father as a handyman with Irvin Bro. Construction. Afterwards he became an automotive mechanic at Medlin Chevrolet in Riley, Kansas for many years. He continued to further his career in the automotive industry and also worked at Bud's auto service and Staghill Transmission both in Manhattan, Kansas.
David was an outdoors-man. He loved to fish and go camping. He was also a family man and loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards. Friday nights were the nights he played poker with his friends.
David is survived by his loving family: Jeanie of the home; his two daughters, Regina and husband Tony Nelson of Leonardville, KS, Melissa and husband Dallas Petty of Leonardville, KS; Son, David Baughman and significant other Songya Largen of Riley, KS; 8 grandchildren Kirsten and husband Joseph Covello of Riley, KS, Alexander and Jenna Nelson, Kobe, Wyatt, Sadie, and Braden Petty all of Leonardville, KS, and Aaliyah Baughman of Riley, KS; two sisters, Diane Gregory of Hamilton, MT, and Donna Baughman of Hamilton, MT; three brothers, Clifford and wife Joan Baughman of Wamego, KS, Dennis Baughman of Hamilton, MT, and Dana and wife Kasey Baughman of Corvallis, MT.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Norma Jean Baughman.
