Daryl J. Zumbrunn, 68, of Junction City, died May 27, 2013 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. Daryl was born Jan. 28, 1945 in Junction City, the son of Clarence Albert & Genevieve Languein Zumbrunn. Daryl attended schools in Junction City, and graduated from Junction City High School in 1963. He attended Kansas State University.
Daryl was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Junction City and also a member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG). Daryl was an appliance salesman at the Junction City Montgomery Ward store for 31 years, and later at Sears and Home Depot, both in Manhattan.
Daryl married Carolyn Annis on June 21, 1985 in Junction City. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Christian Zumbrunn, Junction City; 2 daughters, Megan Landrith and husband Aaron, Junction City, and Genevieve Zumbrunn, Roeland Park; and a brother, Terance Zumbrunn, Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Junction City with Pastor Matthew Glasgow presiding. Burial will be in Humboldt Cemetery, southeast of Junction City. The family will greet friends Thursday, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, or to the American Lung Assn. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in charge of arrangements.
