SSgt. Darrell E. Jordan (Retired), 86, of Junction City, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Valley View Senior Life. Darrell was born January 19, 1933 a Webster Springs, West Virginia. He was the son of Clara (Cowger) Ammons and step-father Charles Ammons. Darrell attended East Fairmont High School in Fairmont, West Virginia.

He entered the U.S. Army in January, 1953 and spent over a 20 year career in the Army, retiring as a SSgt. in 1973. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 5606, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Darrell married Lupe Jacquez on October 10, 1958 in Winchester, West Virginia. Lupe survives. Darrell and Lupe's son, Anthony P. Jordan died July 15, 2018. A nephew, Charles Harper, and his long-time companion Sherry Rochek, Manhattan also survive. West Virginia survivors include: a brother, Danny Ammons and his wife Shelley, Rivesville, West Virginia; a sister, Carol Floyd, Fairmont, West Virginia; 2 nephews, Duane Miller and Dall Floyd and his wife Kristin, all of Barrackville, W.V.; 2 nieces, Sherry Parrish and her husband Ronnie, Boothsville, W.V., and Ramona Woods and her husband Doug, Fairmont, W.V.; and many great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2019 at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, Manhattan, KS. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard from Ft. Riley.

Memorial contributions may be given in Darrell's name to the Donor's Choice.
