Funeral services for Darlene M. (Daymude) Moyer, 72, of Junction City will be held at 10:00 am, December 10, 2011 at First Christian Church with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Mrs. Moyer passed away at Good Shepherd Hospice House, Manhattan, KS on December 7, 2011. Memorial contributions have been designated to the First Christian Church, 1429 St. Mary's Road, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mrs. Moyer was born November 15, 1939, Milford, KS to Michael J. and Emma L. (Zeferjohn) Breen. She worked for Geary County Farm Bureau 1969-1970 and in 1977 she went to work for First State Bank as a personal Banker until retiring in October 0f 2010.
She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, and she loved to travel. Darlene was also an avid bowler and was a member of numerous bowling leagues over the years in Junction City. She acted as host for almost every family gathering including the many holiday celebrations throughout the years.
She married Harry Daymude on August 15, 1958 in Junction City; he preceded her in death on February 26, 2001. She married Dewey Moyer on September 14, 2007; he survives of the home.
Other survivors include her daughter Terry Evans and husband Wayde of Spring Hill, KS, her brother Kenneth Breen and his wife Bonnie of Topeka, KS; grandchildren, Heather Gripka and husband Brian of Shawnee Mission, KS, Brent Mahaffey and wife Lisa of Washington D.C. and Jennifer Daymude of Junction City and one great-grandson, Brody Gripka.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Steven R. Daymude on September 17, 1979.
