Daniel R. Sowder

A memorial service for Daniel R. Sowder, 54, Junction City will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Junction City Nazarene Church. Pastor Jim Bond will officiate. Mr. Sowder passed away May 21, 2010 at his home in Junction City. Cremation will take place with the assistance of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the Junction City Nazarene Church, 1025 S. Washington Street, Junction City, KS 66441-3807.

Daniel was born August 10, 1955, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, the son of Charles W. and Joanne (Beckman) Sowder. He has resided in Junction City for thirty years.

Daniel worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Junction City Church of the Nazarene.

He married Gail Beebe July 27, 2002, in Junction City. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include, three daughters, April Sowder of Evanstonville, Wy; Danielle and Talia Sowder both of Salina, KS, Three step-sons, Shawn Beebe of Warm Beach, Wa.; Anthony Hurst and Nathan Hurst both of Junction City, KS and one step-daughter, Samantha Hurst of Junction City, KS, one brother, Billy Sowder of Junction City, KS and three sisters, Karla Wasion of Woodstock, IL, Kim Boore and Kelly Puhr both of Junction City, KS, four grandchildren, Stephanie, Joseph, Storm and Danasia Sowder.
