Daniel Henry Kramer, 98, of Junction City passed away January 18, 2013 at Geary Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 with Luther Miller officiating at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Memorial contributions have been designated to the Friends of Animals, P.O. Box 580, Junction City, KS 66441 and the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 1206 N. Spring Valley Rd., Junction City, KS 66441.
Daniel was born March 12, 1914, at rural Geary County, KS to Henry Carl and Jeanetta (Asmussen) Kramer. He served in the United States Army and worked on the family farm raising cattle and worked at the saw mill with his father. He also worked for White's Construction of Topeka, KS as a Carpenter and Electrician.
Daniel started tomato plants from seeds for many years and people drove from all over to gather them. He attended many auctions and was a master at working with a lathe. He could make anything with wood or metal and could fix anything. He worked on and built radios and had a strong passion for reading. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness church.
He is survived by his sister Nellie Smith of Junction City, KS and was preceded in death by his parents.
