Daniel L. Harper, 63, of Junction City passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, KS. Calling hours will be Friday, April 18, 2008 from 12-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be given to the Friends of Animals, P.O. Box 580, Junction City, KS 66441, The Open Door, 136 W. 3rd Street, Junction City, KS 66441 and/or Saline County Dialysis in the name of Daniel L. Harper.
Mr. Harper was born July 4, 1944, Ft. Meade, FL to James Daniel and Reatie (Vickers) Harper. He was raised by his step-mother Mrs. Ethel Quinn and his Grandmother, Evelyn Webb. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1963, as a sophomore he was a triple winner in track running hurdles ranking 6th in the nation. He had two years in Junior College and also went to Crum's Beauty College in Manhattan, KS. In years past, he was the manager of Tuffs & Puffs, as a jailer for the Geary County Sherriff's Department, as a night receiver at Walmart and he retired as a machine operator from Russell Stover in Abilene, KS, he also worked for several years as a handyman for Junghans Agency.
He was married to Pamela O. Davis, she survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons; Richard Harper, Nathaniel Harper and Jason Harper and wife, Sylvia all of Tacoma, WA, one daughter; Regina Harper of Tacoma, WA, two brothers; Val Quinn of CA and Von Quinn of Junction City, KS, two sisters; Van-Ellen Webb of AZ and Vel-Eddie Webb of Junction City, KS , six grandchildren and numerous other family members and and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and one younger brother, Edward Jr. Webb
