SFC (Ret) Daniel Boutilier, 68, Junction City, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the Valley View Retirement Community after an extended illness. Cremation has taken place. No memorial service is planned. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the future Kansas Veteran's Cemetery.
Daniel was born March 12, 1939, in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, the son of Burton and Mary Caroline (Markie) Boutilier. He has resided in Junction City since 1973.
Daniel was a United States Army Veteran. During his military career, he served in Vietnam and several tours in Europe. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Meritorious Service Medal. While stationed in Europe, he met and married Ruth Voigt August 28, 1962.
Survivors include his wife Ruth of the home and one son, Daniel A.Boutilier of Manhattan, KS. He is also survived by two sisters, Roseanne Zader of Philadelphia, PA and Phyllis McDonald of St. Catharines, Ontario.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Clive, Andrew and Paul.
Daniel was a good human being and will be loved forever.
