Memorial services for Dan W. Dundon Sr., 84, Milford, KS will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel with Rev. Russell Glaser officiating. Mr. Dundon passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Good Samaritan Center in Junction City, KS. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Church Of Christ, 1811 McFarland, Junction City, KS 66441.
He was born, April 7, 1924 in Riley County, Kansas to Jay Dundon and Emma Ritter Dundon. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1942 and attended Kansas State University. He joined the U S Army in September 1946 and was married to Bernice Prawdzik, February 24, 1947 in Long Branch, New Jersey.
He farmed in Thomas and Geary counties. He worked as an appliance repairman and electrician for several years until becoming an electrician at Ft. Riley in 1973. He continued to work at Ft. Riley until his retirement in 1988.
He enjoyed billiards, farming, hunting, cattle and playing cards. He was always tinkering with electrical equipment trying to bring life back to non-functional appliances. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Junction City Elks Lodge No. 1037, and Eagles Aerie 830.
Survivors include his wife Bernice, Dan Jr. of Kansas City, KS, David E. and Trish of Milford and Jaye Otte and Chuck of Junction City. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
